This site is mainly for the cources I have been teaching. This Fall I teach only English Grammar due to additional administrative obligations. I began to use web textbooks since 1997 and manage my classes through cooperative activities in small group discussion since 2001. Webtextbooks allows me the freedom of choice of topics whenever I find the need to. Cooperative activities help both me and students to get fully engaged with each other while learning more.
I was trained to be a theoretical linguist, but my current research interest is in TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language). My current interest includes the English divide or English gap between have's and have-not's. The English divide will get wider unless there is a proper measure by the government and educators. The term 'English divide' was first introduced in the February presentation of the KATE and then in the June 2001 paper at English Teaching. The following is the list of my recent research work.
